## Specification conformance

- Exactly two registered variants were run: Q1 long/short and Q2 long/flat.
- The trailing twelve-month signal, monthly cadence, next-trading-day close execution, nine fixed equal-notional slots and expanding ETF universe match the frozen registration.
- The sample contains 389 monthly observations and ends June 2026.
- Trading costs come only from the frozen `b6_costs.py` table at a US$5,000 clip.
- Q2 inactive slots earn FRED TB3MS cash; no inactive capital is redistributed.

## Evidence verification

- Every capsule artifact matches `manifest.json`.
- Re-running the engine against the frozen matrix reproduces `result.json` field for field, excluding only the run timestamp.
- Q1 fails the full-sample t-statistic and recent-decade criteria; robustness passes.
- Q2 passes all three frozen criteria.
- Context-only 2x-cost and 0%-cash reads are recorded separately in `assay-004-context-derivations.json`; they do not alter the frozen verdict.
